"Lucky Sandollar"
Acrylic Paint

Yesterday was the ALS walk which meant that Mom, Dad, and myself loaded into the van to meet our team and participate in the walk (which means about one lap around the track). When loading back into the van Dad's wheelchair locked up and stopped working. Luckily, he was far enough inside the van for the door to be shut. During the drive from the walk towards the house I could see Mom was losing it. This became apparant when she began speaking out loud to herself saying he would just have to stay in the van. I informed her this wasn't the 70s anymore and that none of us were going to live in the van. She then said we should call 911. I then reminded her this was not an emergeny and maybe she wanted to slow down because Dad was sliding all over the back of the van. I offered to go to the grocery store for her in which she said "I need to get out." So I called my grandparents and in the middle of my convesation she took the phone from me telling them to come over. After the two fire department men carried dad into the house, my grandparents showed up, and mom flipped a switch on the chair to make it work again, she was ready to go to the grocery store and do some serious damage.
